HELP on SUNDAYS

Hi guys, this may sound a very stupid question but how do I do the fol;owing:

SOURCE PAGE

I have a link on a page which is coded like this:

$row["id"] is a field in my database

when i click on the link it picks up the content of the field with no problem.

The link takes me to "accomchoice.php". Agian no problem

TARGET PAGE

the QUERY I am running is:

$query = "SELECT id, location, name, street, suburb, town, county, postcode, tel, fax, email, web, tariff FROM accom WHERE id = '$http_get_vars[idname]'";

The error I get is:
Parse error: parse error in /homepages/41/d43000764/htdocs/TraveltoEngland/Accomodation/PHP/accomchoice.php on line 154

All I am trying to do is pick up the contents of a field on the SOURCE PAGE and direct the link to a record on the TARGET PAGE using the

idname="<?= $row["id"] ?>"><?= $row["id"] ?></a>

from the link.

What am I doing wrong.

Forgive my ignorance but what does "<?=" do? Is it the same as "<?php echo" ?

is the same as
<? print $var?>

(<?= without blank between ? and =)

Hi there Guys, Thanks for your input. Big problem, it does not work. the following works,

If I move the pointer over a record on the screen I see the following URL:
http://www.mysite/accomodation/php/accomchoice.php?idname="20"

The "20" could be any record ID. If I move from record to record the URL will show the record ID on the end of the URL.

I click on the link which opens the accomchoice.php page but the results are not what I expect. It's because the varibale "idname" is not been passed to the accomchoice script.

Why is this and how can I make it work.

I have tried all your suggestions with no result.

from the menu select: accomodation, guest house and then point to a record ID and click. Please I do need help.
