count login

hi all
i have a problem, pls help me, thanks a lot

when i login a page, i want count per login, if i login more than 3, it appear error.

There are 3 ways to do this that I can think of.

1. Cookie
2. Session
   3 DB

Both the cookie and the session can be popluated with an auto incrementing variable, and is the most efficient way to do it.
