Cookies not staying.

My site requires the users to log in. It then saves their username to a cookie. I set the cookie like this:

setcookie("mbuser","$username","time()+2592000");

Which means it should last 30 days, however, when you leave the site, the cookie is distroyed...
Why?

Try this:

setcookie("mbuser", $username ,time()+2592000);
