trouble sending emails to hotmail accounts

Hello everyone. I'm a newbie. Posted a petition script that sends a confirmation message to all signers. I've noticed that the confirmation emails aren't being sent to hotmail accounts (and possibly others), even when the Hotmail filters are set to "off", though they are being sent to Yahoo accounts (among others). Anyone else experience a similar problem? Any suggestions?

It could be that Hotmail is doing a reverse lookup in DNS on your server. If you are using virtual hosting, the reverse lookup will not resolve to your domain name. This is just an idea, you will want to check with Hotmail and see what their filter rules are.

Nods - have seen this happen before, and not just with automagically sent emails.

Have had reports that it blocks the first attempt, but allows exactly the same email through on the 2nd attempt - very strange. Unfortunately I haven't managed to investigate this too much yet, but I will let you know if I find anything out.
