What can I use to limit a mySQL field to 3000 characters?

varchar has a max number limit of 255 characters..
what can I use if I want to have the max limit of like 3000 characters and intergers?

I was gonna use text but isnt that unlimited characters?

isnt there one that you can limit upto say 3k chars... if not ill just limit a text box or something..

Text is not unlimited and it will only use as much space as needed.

Unfotunately, you'll have to use text and then limit the input.
