Support for logical bitwise operators?

Does php support logical (bitwise?) operators like and?

Maybe i'm doing something wrong:
$name=2;
$email=4;
$auto=$name+$email;
$temp=$auto and $email;
$temp should be 4

another example:
$name=2;
$email=4;
$place=8;
$auto=$name+$email;
$temp=$auto and $place;
$temp should be 0

yet another:
$name=2;
$email=4;
$place=8;
$auto=$name+$place;
$temp=$auto and $place;
$temp should be 8

Logical and Bitwise operators are not the same in PHP.

Bitwise operators take the form of && (and) and || (or) with a few more thrown in for good measure. Try taking a look at http://www.php.net/manual/en/language.operators.bitwise.php.

This is the way most high level languages tend to do bitwise operations 🙂

Thanks, it works fine! I thought object pascal has the same operator for logical and bitwise: and 😉
