Hi,
I am experiencing a little trubble figuring out why the .htaccess file authentication is not working in Apache2.0.40 with PHP 4.2.3. When i goto a page that is protected by a .htaccess file, it gives me the autherization required page WITHOUT the login box. So i cannot enter the username or password. It just tKes me to the 401 Autherization required page.
Everything seems to work fine when use the .htaccess file with Apache 1.3.26. I went thru the httpd.conf of both versions of apche and made sure that they both load the same modules and the AllowOverride directive is set to ALL.
O by the way I am using Windows XP(Sp1)
Any help is really appreciated
