Forum Question

Hi! I have been looking into creating a music forum and I was wondering what language forums are created in. Like this one, I'd assume it is php. I am a newbie on this whole thing.

I suspect that if you hunt around you'll find a forum written in the language of your choice.

However, most aren't expecting you to get down and dirty with the code and will have html templates where you can change the html but nothing else.

how much extra coding are you expecting to do?

Well, I am thinking of doing as much coding as I have to. I am waiting for some books that I've bought to come yet.

I have studied java and c++ and also have been reading some online books oh php. I noticed that php is not too hard some I will attempt to create a forum using it.

I am not sure how to get it started though. I was thinking on a forum similar to this, which would take me a great amount of time but that's okay. Would you start from scratch or find scripts on it?
