I'd suggest try obtaining the data in another format if at all possible. Because as far as I know, pdf files are meant to be viewed visually, and hence aren't optimized for the trasmitting of data to be easily parsed apart. (php has function to create pdf files, but not parse them apart) Try using xml or just a straight, propriety text format if possible.
Yer gonna have to pay me a lot of money before you can get me to try and tackle parsing apart pdf files. 🙂 That sounds like as much fun as hitting yourself on the head with a hammer. Actually, on second thought, probably less so, I'd much rather prefer the hammer.
