Mysql On Windows Xp

i have downloaded mysql 2000/nt/xp from mysql.com and installed but hi didnt work on xp , anyone now why /????

You have to start it now. Find mysqladmin.exe and double click it.

i have started winmysqladmin and after this i have clicked on mysqladmin.exe - nothing helps

mysql doesnt want to work on my xp ... why ?

when i have this problem, i have founded one post about my problem, one people has writed that i muust to install ServicePack for XP, it is not right,

I now that ServicePack can solve very much of problems but service pack is not last solution for mysql_problem,

when i have installed mysql i make this

mysql for XP...

1. in c:\windows i have deleted my.ini (mysql creates this one)

2. then i have launched mysql and entered login and password

3. after this click - create button

4. after this is showed in tray mysql icon with red light

   5. next i am clicking by right mouse on mysql tray icon and choose , WinNt>Install the service

   6. after this i make similar(5) but choosing Start the service

I'm running MySQL on an xp box and had no probs, did you follow all the instructions they give you to install,

1. when you run mysql from the prompt what happens? (good idea to add c:\mysql\bin (or whatever your install path is) to your path while you're at it

2. When you run mysqladmin it shows up for a second then
   minimizes to the taskbar as a stoplight with a white background I think, you can click that to maximize it again.
