include_path='c:\php4\pear' ???? Where is this set?

OK I cannot find the include_path line in php.ini

Any ideas where to find this and turn it off?

you should not need to set the pear, just look at your code once again and make sure that the path for files include are correct.
usually error on command line :

include ('folder_name/file_name');

I'm having the same problem as this. I am trying to use the pear Mail class. All I really have on a page is the example from the pear documentation. I get the following warning though.

Warning: Failed opening '../pear/Mail.php' for inclusion (include_path='.;c:\php4\pear') in D:\Websites\php\mailinglist\test2.php on line 14

Where do I change c:\php4\pear to c:\php\pear where pear actually is?

I am using PHP 4.2 on Windows IIS.
