Apache Server prob

I am trying to host my website from my machine but whenever I try to get to it I get this error

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access / on this server.

Apache/1.3.20 Server at localhost Port 80

I can howeverr view the site using localhost

Any Ideas?

can you tell me the specification of your machine and maybe your httpd.conf ?
i can't answer yet, because there are million possibilities, depends on the configuration

I can see the contents of the

http://myIP/public/

folder... so I guess all I want to do is to allow those settings for

http://myIP/

in httpd.conf these settings do that I guess >>
