Help on Pass variables pls

Hi,

I am a real newbie, just 2 days on PHP.

Had this little problem here, I have the following select.htm file: -

and the pass.php is as follows: -

<?php
echo "$Question1 is the value we got";
?>

The submission seemed to work, as the url shows up as

http://158.88.88.100/pass.php?Question1=158.88.88.88

but the ouput on screen is something like

"is the value we got " without the variable, any hints on what is getting on ?

The variable does not show up, :-(.

PHP creates variables on the fly for the current scope. If you want to use global variables they should be declared as such. Anyway, you seem to already be in the global scope so there is no need to redeclare it.

Check if your version of php has the enable_track_vars set using phpinfo( ); There is one setting at compile time and another one in php.ini

look for the QUERY_STRING variable.

The first place to look for your data would be from within the $GLOBALS and the $_SERVER arrays. the print_r( $arr ); should be useful for dumping an array's content.

i would suggest that you look to make sure that http://158.88.88.100/pass.php is where pass.php really exists, as i just tried your script and it works when http://158.88.88.100/pass.php is modified to fit my directory, i.e., i see "158.88.88.120 is the value we got" on the screen.

I turned it on and it works :-).
