Is there a limit on variable size

Is there a limit on the size of a variable. I have a variable that reads in a field from an Access database. The field is of type memo. I need to know if there is a size limit. The problem is that it's reading in the information, but when I print out the variable using 'echo', it doesn't print everything out. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

there are some limits, but I think that they would be kinda ridiculous to reach , they are something like 10 billion characters. Depending on how you have your columns set.

In MySQL you can set the leghth such as:

varchar[50]

or:

longtext

I know Access is different but usually the only restraint comes from the database
