apache server problem

i've tried installing php4.2.3 on both apache1.3.27 and apache2.0.42

and i still get the same error msg when installing php4.2.3 about not being able to configure apache automatically and that i have to do it manually. and when i do it manually and test the config i always get the error that the module is not included in the library or something. can anyone help me with this problem?

First of all, what operating system are you using? If its windows then did you download the windows installer? if so, then download the binaries and install that instead.

os is windows 2000.

i downloaded the following files

php-4.2.3-installer.exe
php-4.2.3-Win32.zip
php4-win32-latest.zip
apache_1.3.27-win32-x86-no_src.exe
apache_2.0.42-win32-x86-no_ssl.msi

which ones should i use?

as for the configuration error. it has something to do with something that's supposed to configure apache hasn't been created yet or something like that. this is during the installation of php.

Its ok to download the apache .msi file (if you have the latest windows installer program, otherwise download the .exe file).

However, for PHP you probably want to use the php-4.2.3-Win32.zip file.
