Hi there, my first post here...
I'm a front-end design-type-guy who has happened into Flash. Someone has been a client of mine for a couple of months as he had a good idea for a web community (http://concourseclub.ca), and he wanted me to design it for him. I'm almost there with the front end, but I have no server-side skills whatsoever yet. I just purchased a computer to function as a localhost for testing, and currently have Win2KServer with IIS installed, PHP4, mySQL and Apache, and ColdFusion as my hopeful means of eventually integrating all my Flash with.
I need to build a typical logon/register script that works...as he is going live in January knowing full-well I'll have to contract out the main part of the backend--for which I told him it will probably cost upwards of 10K Cdn), but in the meantime he wants members to be able to take advandge of discounts that will apply to them in the community. For this, I need a logon system.
I am perfectly willing to build the front end so it has the look and feel I want, but I'd like to know if there are any basic tutorials/advice out there that may help get me going. I'm asking, as I've actually already been searching for weeks and keep coming up empty.
I'm good with Flash, Access, and typical DHTML, but I'm not quite sure where to begin to get this type of thing up and running.
Any help would be appreciated very much.
