form handling

well, something is seriously wrong with my server

Im running apache with php 4.2.3

and all of a sudden none of my form handling scripts are working

(i.e html doc, with text field with name of colour, the forms action is main.php)
but in main.php, after clicking submit, it tells me that the variable colour hasn't been defined.

So obviously its not picking up the variables from the form.

WTF is wrong here? i know its not my code..cause it was working fine before..

The script was probably designed for register_globals to be ON, but 4.2.3 has them by default OFF.

check php.ini and turn em on or change all your variables to

$POST['variable'];
or
$GET['variable'];

or you can use the hack at the top and bottom of your scripts..

ini_set("register_globals", 1);
