opening a connection to another site?...

yesterday i agreed a bank for accepting credit cards online in my site. and they gave me some java classes to integrate my site. but there is a problem for me, my hosting company does not support servlets. then i decided to write a .php to the same job with that .class...

that .class file opens a connection to banks server than its sends required information to server via that connection and finally retrieves reply to me.

i think, i have to do all jobs in one page.

here is my problem;

first of all i have to connect server. but how?... is there any way in php for this?...

Wow...you're talking about connecting to a bank to transfer money and you aren't sure how to connect to the server? You may be in over your head. I can smell the liability. You need a secure connection that can't be hacked by looking at your php code. good luck with that. I would call the bank and tell them your situation before you go re-writing bank software. PHP definitly isn't the most secure to do this.

well... of course php isnt the most secure language for doing that job 🙂.. in fact, security ups to coder... whatever, i have to do it because of my server rights...

i have already using secure connection for gathering information from customers.. i have a problem in last step only.. and it's desciribed in above...

The problem is that if some can see your logic by viewing your code...you're screwed. And the liability comes back to you. In other words...you can be held liable for anything that happens due to faulty code on your part. If you have to work around it, see if you can do it through the unix shell on your server, that way...you can bury the code upstream of your web directory. And if you can't then consider switching servers or calling the bank for alternate means of transaction. Often times...banks will do everything on their side and you just pass items and price to them and everything happens on their side.

To answer your question...you can open a connection to a server using fsockopen().
