Sending mail

Hi there!
I recently created a script that sends e-mails via the normail dunction you konw. But it is forbidden by security reasons. So I decided to use a SMTP server via a socket to do that so that I can use my ISP's mail server for sending letters. But the server gave me an error "Fatal error: Forbidden port in smtp_mail.inc on line 131". I don't know why it did that. I tried the yahoo smtp server but nothing again. Tell me how can I fix the problem - another SMTP server if the problem is there or some alternative way of sending mail.

I'm sure this is a dumb question, but since no one else replied.....Do you have the mail function turned on in your php.ini file?

The problem is that the server is not myne it is a free host.
