I have a table with a field named deadline in the form of timestamp.
I want to dynamically delete the record if the deadline has met.
That is when date() >= deadline DELETE RECORD FROM TABLE

But if I put that in a page, it means that it is only deleted by the time that page is accessed.
Is there any way to do it in real-time?

yes, if you have a shell account and cron. you can call your script from cron every * minutes.

Windows has a schedule manager of some sort, doesn't it?

Write your script in PHP, and schedule it to be run (the command being some variation of "php.exe -f script.php") when you want it to be run.

there is also 'at'.

be careful when using AT command on windows, it uses the SYSTEM user and can only access the SYSTEM user registry. If the software you try to use is configured on your session only, it'll crap. Shouldn't be a problem with php or mySQL but watch it.

will you be deploying the site on a windows server, too, or are you just developing on one?

why do you need to clear the table so regularly? i don't see why running the query every 1 in 20 times the page is called or so. That's how PHP clears old sessions.
