Urgent call for help!

I've started a thread over at www.sitepointforums.com and we've tried for days to get this to work.

I'd be eternally grateful if you could read through the thread (67 posts, lol) and see if anyone here can figure out whats wrong.

Depending on the browser, you may or may not be able to use get and post methods on the same form. In you main page, you build the zip search form specifying METHOD="POST", but then you specify ACTION="classList.php?search=zip". That's mixing get with post.

I am guessing that it is this $search variable that you are checking to see if the form processor should create the $RESTRICTION string for the query. This only works if both the browser and the html server agree that this is allowable. The CGI specification does not require either to honor both at the same time.

Change the ACTION="classList.php?search=zip" to ACTION="classList.php" and then add the search variable to the form as a hidden variable with "zip" as it's value.

Alright. I tried that. Still not setting the $RESTRICTION but yet all the other var's are getting set.

Where are you changing it? The source pointed to above still looks the same...

Also, if you do change it like I say, make sure you change

if ($_GET['search'] == "1")

if ($_POST['search'] == "1")

as well. And by the way, you were setting $search eqaul to "zip" in your form, and then you check for $search == "1"??? I think you need to just get all of your code in synch...

...then your processing code should look like:
