I've been working on a system that will enable one to create a site-base session for that particular site's "Who's Online" feature, and create a global session for logging people in at other sites, and for people who are using multiple sites with one accounts database.
However, I have the global session handler working, and records are all nice and in the database, but I'm having difficulty finding a secure way to pull information to tell if they are logged in at another site, since the cookies are only one domain.
Is there anyway to set a cookie that can be accessed from other web sites such as blizzforums.com and starcraft.org, but not to any others?
I'm thinking that I could get that user's ip address, select any session from the global db that contains that IP and then log them in based on that.. but I'm not sure if that would work what do you guys think?
Oh, what I'm working on is located at cms.blizzforums.com and you can see what im intergrating it with at blizzforums.com, starcraft.org, sclegacy.com, wclegacy.com, and warcraft.org.
