Mysql Fetching

Ok, I have this script where I insert 3 values into 3 rows of a db, but how will I be able to select and display this information, First I'll need a way to display the most current submission, then have access to some form of archive, then another part where I will be able to recap the last 25 submissions, and another to show a list of only titles for the last 10

in order to prperly fetch the most recent row from any table you will need a datetime field to keep track. After that it's all
SELECT * FROM TABLENAME ORDER BY datetimefield DESC LIMIT 0,1
(the limit will only work if you're using MySQL. But then again there's no need to fetch more tahn one row, so it's not really a problem).

Now when I make a submission how do I make it so it fills in the time field?

The mySQL datetime field is of the format yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss so you need the time in that format:

$timestamp = date("Y-m-d H:i:s", time()); //see date() documentation

If you want to insert current time, simply use Mysql's NOW() function which adds current date and time. I presume that the users dont get to edit the submission date

I got it working, now my entire system is operational, this is the first script I have ever made.
