mysqlcheck utility and MySQL db maintenance

Hallo,

in these last 3 weeks I got a lot of problems with MySQL deamon on a unix machine. I need to restart it two or more times a day 🙁

I know that my server actually is running low of memory, but I don't think that problem is this.

So I have tryed the utility mysqlcheck -r dbname

It has found some errors while running the first time with the -c option . After the -r it doesn't report anything more.

I would like to ask how often should I plan maintenance for my Mysql databases or how to prevent this problems... I hope this was the reason for the crashes...but I am not shure and unable to find mysql logs on my server 🙁 I think they have configured it in some strange way...

Have you checked your memory for errors? Often when a database keeps getting corrupted it is a single bit memory error somewhere doing it.
