DOMXML Parsing error, URL

[wwwwizard]

The following will not parse correctly.

<myRoot><myItem><url>http://www.mysite.com/index.php?z=gothere&id=19299</url></myItem></myRoot>

It says it expects a ';' after the '&'. I understand it is thinking the & starts an HTML special char, but what is the proper format to use?
