Remote SMTP server - help

I'm having serious trouble. I have a php site that doesnt allow mail sent, so i want to use another smtp server (running on my comp), how do i set this?
i obvoiusly cant set php.ini, so how can i do this from a single line command .

i know there is some way, any ideas?

see ini_set in the manual. you can set both smtp and the smtp port. it is in effective only for the duration of your script.
