Security Alert! The PHP CGI cannot be accessed directly

Ok im tryin to set up my own server on windows 95 with the server as Xitami and I want php. Ok so I download the installer and install php and tell it I have a Xitami server....Then I try to test php by accessing the test.php from the web and it says "Security Alert! The PHP CGI cannot be accessed directly.
This PHP CGI binary was compiled with force-cgi-redirect enabled. This means that a page will only be served up if the REDIRECT_STATUS CGI variable is set, e.g. via an Apache Action directive."
The installer warned me of this and told me to go into the php.ini file in the windows driectory and edit the line of cgi.force_redirect and set it to zero. This didn't work and my webserver still displayed the same message.

Not being very familiar with Xitami, is it possible to configure it to set REDIRECT_STATUS? If not, and it is for development work, set that configuration variable and restart the webserver or your computer.

Yes it is possible to change the REDIRECT_STATUS for PHP in the PHP.ini if thats what you mean? And I did change it and it didn't seem to work.

Why don't you just save yourself the trouble and D/L apache.
It is really good and the new server dosn't crash.

But a small recommedation if you are going to host it as your own web server I would not do that unless you have a 73 on your computer LOL. A cable modem just won't cut it 😃

The best a cable modem can do is be used for development purposes to view your web page and test it. You should upload to a web host with an awsome connetion for the real page. =)

I would download apache but i think the problem lies within the PHP setup its self. and i am running cable but it seems all the free webservers out there are crap and have ads all over em so i'll just host my site my self.....cause i mean i don't have much money just an old P133 with windows 95 and a cable modem....lol
at least its nothing else is running on it(its a dedicated server)

YEa I know what you mean but I was going to do the same but MY ISP won't allow it they don't have port 80 open 🙁
