Bandwidth?

Hi,

I have a large image which I need to send in my newsletters, thru my websiteA.com . But I do not want to use the bandwidth of websiteA.com, so I have uploaded the image on my another websiteB.com. I have written following the code and save it on websiteA.com:

?>

Please advice whose bandwidth will be used when i sent the newsletter... websiteA.com or websiteB.com??

short answer: websiteB.com

a bit longer answer: your websiteA.com delivers html to the user's browser. that html is coded so that the pic comes from websiteB.com so it is the user's browser that is requesting the large pic, that large pic coming from the websiteB.com server.

But when I tried to send the image in test email, the image is going along with email (image is available in that email even offline).

Is your answer still same- bandwidth of websiteB.com

my understanding is this...

if the image is actually included in the email, without a link that is pulling the pic from serverB, then no, it's serverA doing the work, but if the pic is going to person1 in this fashion, then serverA does the work once, and if person1 forwards the pic 1000 times, it is person1's server doing the work 999 times, and if it is a pic pulled into email via a link to the image, then yes, serverB is doing the work. note that the image may be cached, so that is why it might still appear while offline.
