Hey you SYS ADMIN got a question for ya!

I posted a question in the forum, its been a few days and i still have not gotten a reply, not even one saying "sorry bud your f*cked".
I then posted the same quesiton to php forums and they have not given me any reply at all either, i went to an irc discussion board, and posted there, (irc board, as in nothing whatsoever to do with php) and not only did they reply, some of them had answers, and even freakier, one of them uses SPSS the same system i do and had questions on.

What is this?
I really dont care about not getting my questions answered, just no answer at all. people will answer the stupid easy questions, but when a seemingly hard one rears its head everyone scatters, it wasnt even hard (cuz my little sister pointed out that i was using substr wrong), i am still having a problem, but i guess i'll go ask the irc people cuz damn.
i dunno, i just always thought of php users as nice people, but i have been totally ignored on both the main php discussion forums, did i do something wrong? did i ask the forbidden questions? is my username offensive?
i honestly feel kinda rejected and whats more, have lost faith in php users everywhere......
well that was dramatic, actually, i just feel kinda peeved that nobody helped me out.
well its not like I paid any money is it? or that you guys have some kind of garuntee that i will be helped, but i even answered some questions on all the boards to help people out, so maybe people would come and help me out, but still no answer.
i would like some tips so that future questions will be answered.

methinks you're premenstrual, go grab a hottie and have a wee lie down.

1) even the guru's get caught up with funny little syntax typos that you can't see for looking and will give everyone a good giggle round the water cooler, it happens, get over it.

2) if your problem is particularly specialised then the chances that someone who knows that type of thing may not be checking the boards on the same week you do. We all get busy. I've made postings that haven't been answered - I frequent other forums but I favour this one, its busy and interesting. There's no law that says you can't shop around.

That said, it does get annoying when you see newbies posting newbie questions at multiple forums but for the tricky advanced stuff it's ok.

3) The moderators aren't paid here so don't b**** too much!

4) don't count on the users of any language (PHP, English, French, Java) as being any nicer than any others, that's call prejudice!

gotta love that water cooler, dont have one tho, caffachine (thats caffine machine to those of you who dont speak 3l1t3 (dont know if thats a real language)).

i wouldnt say its specialized at all, it was actually pretty simple, read through a string, grab certain data put it in a string, until you hit a certain point then loop and grab all the data till the end of a string and put it in an array, then put it in a mysql data base and repeat till the eof. its pretty much that simple, i mean a little more complicated, but really actually easy. and all i wanted was someone else to look at it and tell me if there was a simpler way, or why the heck i keep getting 8 loops instead of 4, and stuff, and if i should stop drinking so much coffee before i code, or if i need more plus some caffine pills if im goin to do a proper job.

good thing your not paid, or else this would be a thankless job, AND it wouldn't pay enough 😃.

anyways, I realise this, it was just frustrating, but i understand, if the questions outta your league, then dont answer it. i was just wanting someone to reply to me, even to just let me know that "hey buddy, your f*cked, you might have better luck somewhere else, and by the way, france is great this time of year" i mean that would make my day, i would go load up on caffine, get a sandwich from quizno's and read through my code, until i found the problem, or until i get bored and start working on another project, or go read mangas somewhere....probably mega tokyo cuz at least they are in japan, and largo's the shiznit cuz he speaks l33t sp3ak and he always says ph34r my b33r....yeah...well i gotta get some more coffee, i will await your reply. did you know i get paid to sit here and do this? kewl huh?
