eCommerce class library - interest?

I have been scouring the Internet for a decent set of eCommerce functions and classes, written in PHP, that could be assembled into a program/website at will. But I just couldn't find anything! nothing nothing nothing. Which quite surprised me, given the proliferation of all sorts of other frameworks, libraries, and stuff.

I was wondering if this is a niche that wants filling in the open-source world? Would there be any interest in something like this? What I'm thinking of is a set of libraries and functions, probably built around PHPLib (great for database/session abstraction). They could possibly be used for inventory management, contact management, online selling, etc., etc., etc.

So whaddya think? I'm working on something right now, and was wondering if there'd be enough interest to make it open-source! just trying to homestead a little part of the "noosphere", heh heh.

I'm not saying not to write your own and open source it, as I think more is better, but there are a few projects such as you describe on sourceforge.net. Do a search for ecommerce and the first two results are in PHP. Several more a little bit down..

ahhhh, but the problem with them was that they were full-featured programs, not class/function libraries. I guess I just don't like dissecting other people's programs.
