Hi,
Marconi, your post is not that clear...
a. are you working from your office network and your windows /
win32 machine get its IP from a DHCP server?
or,
b. are you working from home on your dial-up or dsl connect and
you get your router IP from a DHCP server via your ISP?
if you are at work, talk to your admin.
if you are at home and on dsl, there still may be hope for you.
at home and on dsl:
1. open a DOS window on your win32 machine (or win16 machine,
if you are unlucky enuff to be using win95/98/ME)
type 'ipconfig'
you'll get three parameters as a result; IP, subnet, gateway
if you are connected straight to your dsl router, then your IP
is your WAN IP address, which people from the outside world
can hit.
activate your webserver, and send your buddies the link to
your materials for them to download: http://your.IP/path/to
remember - your web server will use port 80, which may not
be activated by default on your router. call the tech support
people and ask them to open port 80. ftp is port 21.
check every 24 hours, or whenever you need to use the web
server for data exchange, and you'll know what your IP is.
muy buena suerte. gambete. konbanwa.
ps> you have to use the anchor reference properly too when
you use IP addresses:
<a href="http://your.ip/path/to">download</a> - works
<a href="IP/path/to">download</a> - won't work
