chmod problem...

I have a problem where I need to CHMOD the files on a server from a PHP page...

I got this from the PHP manual....

chmod($filname, 0777)

so that would cange the contents of filename to write, read and execute.

But I get the following error:

Warning: chmod failed: Operation not permitted in /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/thebluenowhere.co.uk/httpdocs/do_chmod.php on line 5

Any ideas??

You are not allowed to use chmod. Drop to the system level and see if it still gives you static.

If so, consult your webhost.

Or set the file manually with a FTP program.
