So No One Knows Myisamchk?

i hope you don't imply, by not replying to this topic, that no one has more experience with myisamchk than i do?

now what is this?? the server is shut down and i've got 3.2GB free on the drive, the "dalist" table is ~600MBs ~(300data, 300 index).. any ideas??

i want to sort the date inside the data file, trust me i need to..

i've managed to sort the index file without trouble..

using xp & mysql4

Are you certain the database is shutdown completely? Have you use something like 'ps ax|grep -i mysql' to see if maybe there aren't some mysql backends still up and running somewhere?

sorry for the late reply, yes the server was completely shut down

Try taking the box down to run level 1 (as root type in 'init 1') and see if the isamcheck can run then.

Unfortunately, it is the win32 version of mysql.
