Looking for hints on storing PHP code in database and displaying

Hello,

Wat I would like to do is create a small database to store code snippets (like the one on phpbuilder.com). Since I'm very newbie I would like to have some hints on how I should do this. I know to use addslashes for instance but this does not help with <? or ?> tags for example.

I'm not looking for a complete script, if someone could point me in the right direction I'll be happy to dive in and find out.

Take a look at the [MAN]htmlentities[/MAN] or [MAN]strip_tags[/MAN] functions. The database doesn't care how the data is formatted, but the browser cares about the output.

That makes sense. What I was thinking of myself was replacing html special chars with their entities (like > instead of >). I think a combination with that and your answer will get me where I want to go.

That's what [MAN]htmlentities[/MAN] does for you. Thankfully, there's no need to reinvent the wheel.
