To test my php page on WinXP ...

Hi !

I'm a newbies with php. What do I need to run php page on my computer (localhost) ... do I need a virtualserver ???

All I have for the moment is EditPLUS ... please help 😕

you need to get php window binary from http://www.php.net/get_download.php?df=php-4.2.3-Win32.zip
http://apache.org/dist/httpd/binaries/win32/ (dont really need it, but most people use it)

maybe u can try Appserv or Foxserv

I create a log reading program and in the end the program draws line graph using the data extracted from the log file.

it's fine with php3 but when I install appserv php4.2.2 & apache, it won't draw a thing. why? plez help

search for php triad, it's an very easy to install package.

When it's installed and u dun see any shortcuts in the start menu, just go to c:\apache\ and c:\apache\mysql\bin

start apache in c:\apache and mysqladmin in c:\apache\mysql\bin

then type http://localhost in ur browser to see if it is all set up.

If it is put the file u want to test in the httdocs from the c:\apache and u can start ur testing work..

(prollu some useless info in here but heck at least most is covered i think 😛)

Windows XP has a builtin IIS server. You can install it from your start > settings > control pannel > add /remove programmes under windows components. (make sure you have your XP disc ready, or your i386 folder). After its installed, go to http://www.php.net - download the scripting engine then http://www.zend.com to accellarate it!
