i want to make a search engine which is similar to google.
i want to search my database but only show a certain amount of chars for each result.
how can i set the amount of chars to print per result?

Result Title1.
Result text (limited)
Result Title2.
Result text (limited)

You could solve this by using substr() - see the manual:
