ERROR 2013: Lost connection to MySQL server during query

Hello...all...... This is my first post...Help me!!

I have a trouble thing, These is no error where I "mysql_connect("localhost","root",""); mysql_select_db("test");".

I have the 2013 error when I query some tables, but others haven't..Tell me why.?

My platform:
MySQL 3.23.36
Redhat Linux 7.1, kernel 2.4.2-2
