using fopen on a file and having trouble.

I have created a filemanager that I can list all the files in a folder and edit them. the problem that I am having is for instance a file that contains html and a textbox attribute. when the page displays with the code from the file it thinks that the code is part of the page that is displaying it. is there anything that I can do that scans through the file before putting it in the textbox? I think I may have confused you. The thing is that the only problem that i have is the text box. If you have any ideas that would be helpfull.

If I have well understood your problem, you want to edit a file thanks to a "textarea" and it is just a problem of display ?

Assuming the fact your file is in a variable $text_from_file, you may try :

I used something similar to that. i used htmlspecialchars(). that worked for me. Thanks for the advise....
