Php and irc chat server

Hi all,

I'm new in php. But i want todevelop a web site which will have a chat option. But hte problem is i cann't develop a chat server. So now I want to connect with irc.dal.net chat server through php script. I think u guys understand what i need. Is it possible. if yes then please let me know how to do it.

I'm in deep problem. Please help me.

This isn't IRC but close to your orginal goal of a chat server.

It looks a little old but it might be a good framework to go with.

I totally agree - phpmychat is an easy to install and use system for the beginner. However there is one small problem, it doesn't work for AOL users. IE & Netscape work fine, but as usual AOL wants to be different. It seems a shame to not be able to offer them a service as there are lots of them.

Can anyone suggest a solution?
