NULL char in text file

Hi 2 All,

Here is my problem: there is a text log file on server with diff transactions of previous day.
ex:
ID | LOCIN | DATE | LENGTH
M2,USER,25/10/02,372

When transactions was made by undefined user new log has such a view:
M2,,25/10/02,372 with Null character instead of USER.

After that i cannot get this line correctly with (file() or fgets()) as returned string is being truncated with this character.

Can anyone suggest a good solution?

when an undefined user is added to the log, replace the null login string with 'anonymous', so that there is no null.

Yes, but i don't have an access to log generating system and i don't know for this time if it is possible 🙁

oh right i thought you meant you were generating the log yourself.

you should have a read of [man]fgetcsv[/man]

Try using fread(). You'll have to break it into lines yourself, but a simple explode() should do that for you.

Yes, fread() with explode save the situation. I was just wondering about another thin solution 🆒
