vieuwing form information

I have been looking trough the first 20 pages of this forum and I can't find a way to do this, can someone plz tell me.

If I put some information in a textarea and submit it then i don't see the enter if I vieuw the information, if you know what I mean.

example:
if I type this in a textarea from a form:

I'm testing of this works
it didn't

then when i put it in a database and pull it back out in a table i get:

I'm testing of this works it didn't

is there a way so I can reconize the enter?

Check out the urlencode function in the php manual. sounds like it might do this.

that function does something verry wierd:

<?php

$test= "hello
world";
$test= urlencode($test);
echo $test;

?>

the I get: hello%0D%0Aworld

So i thought to do this:

<?php

$test= "hallo
world";
$test= urlencode($test);
$test = str_replace("%0D%0A", "<br>", $test);

echo $test;

?>

then i get:
hello
world

but then i would have to code a lot of str_replace for everything cause a space turns into "+" then and so on....
there must be an easyer way...

if you want to preserve line breaks in HTML, print nl2br($variable); - it converts newline chars to HTML <br>-tags.

I found a way too, but yours is easyer
I was using
ereg_replace("(\r\n|\n|\r)", "<br>", $variable)
