How do i make it

news.blabla.com/ ????

I heard this is done programmaticaly?

Have a look at your Web Server Manual, this is not really anything to do with PHP.

Well, I use to code in Coldfusion, and to do that, you had to download a ReverseDNS .cfm module to achieve this.

Then you could have your URL as whatever.blabla.com

Does anyone know what the whatever pre-domain-prefix is called? Does it have a name so I know what to look for during research?

Its called a Sub-Domain.

There are a few PHP scripts out there that change the header so if some one writes:

'http://news.mydomain.com/'

it gets changed to

'http://www.mydomain.com/news'

i dont know where but there are a few posts in here on the subject!

In apache you can do it with the .htaccess -file, but it requires that the server is configured to redirect *.mydomain.com to mydomain.com.
