Passing Values to other PHP file

I have a PHP file that retrieves information from a MySQL DB. I need to take the data I retrieved and pass that information to another PHP file that uses that information when building the HTML. Can this be done?

Of course it could be done.

But passing it can be very dangerous.

Instead, write the first file as a module (or better yet, a function, or better better yet, an 'object'), and include it in the second.

That way you have the data available.

Passing the data (in lieu of a query string) would include storing it to the hard disk drive, which defeats the purpose.

with the previous post. Why not create a dummy variable, and construct your page as so:

if(isset($dummyvar))
{
//form info has been sent and can be used here
}
else
{
//code to write the form
<form action=\"thispage.php?dummyvar=1\".......
}

this is alright as long as there is no sensitive data

Just realised that i slightly misunderstood the question and thought that the data was being collected from a form. Why not create a function that returns the data in a usable way, such as an array, and call this function at the start of the page that requires the information.

Thanks a bunch for the replies. There is not really any sesitive data being passed, however, I think I like the idea of creating a function or object (class) anyway, only because there is going to be a lot of variables if I pass them harlowhair suggested.

I will work on this and I am sure I will have many more questions. Thanks again.
