Messages read on forum, graphic remains 'unread'

Hi,
I'm totally new to this so please be gentle with me.
I recently put up a php board (www.sociopranos.com) and the problem I'm having is the little 'bits of paper' that go yellow to say you haven't read an item STAY yellow even after you have, rather than turning white to let you know you've already seen it.

I know it's not a big problem but a couple of members have complained to me so I'd like to sort it out for them. Does anyone know why this function isn't working properly?

initiate the php-x215 modulator and use it to parse the data via fopen, then open apache.cfg-145_x215 and edit the parse handler line that will help the php-x215 module. DUH!...

jp-(i cant even bullshit technobabble🙁) i would check with cookie and such (sessions)? im not 100% sure how phpbb goes about knowing what users have read or not but im guessing its through a cookie

That usually is fixed by a complete refresh on the user's end (ctrl+f5). It's the cookie update upon read which doesn't take with most board redirects. Not much you can do.
