I have built a web-based application using PHP4 that is to be run on an INTRAnet. The application needs to be viewed in IE6 but there is an large problem with the sessions that I cannot solve. What’s happening is that the session variable is just not being passed or set, and before you say it, yes I do start the session at the beginning of the file. The system completely works on in an internet environment but when I tried it on the intranet where it is supposed to be held, it fails to work.
I have heard a rumour that there is a bug regarding the intranet and sessions in PHP. Has anyone confirmed or denied the rumour? And if there is a solution out there to help me?
I am using $_SESSION[‘username’]. I don’t want to use session_register( ), although I have tried that and it didn’t work either. I cannot use cookies because it is an environment that MUST remain as secure as possible which means that cookies cannot and will not be allowed to be turned on.
If anyone can help me, I’d really appreciate it.
