php.ini problem on windows

Hi all,

I was trying to change register_globals to on in php.ini file 🙂

when i run phpinfo() it was showing "Configuration file path as
c:\winnt\php.ini So i modified that file.

Restarted apache webserver !!
Still doesn't work !! :o

Logoff user
Still doesn't work !! :o

Restarted my OS windows 2000
Still doesn't work !! :o

I renamed C:\winnt\php.ini file as php_1.ini :p

Restarted my OS windows 2000 and i was getting my

configuration file as c:\winnt\ when i run phpinfo() :p

I can't get changes (register_globals=ON) to reflect in phpinfo();

Any help would be greatly appreciated. 😃 😃

Leave your file as php.ini in c:\winnt. Try stopping the web server and restarting to force re-read of the ini file.

I tried the following command.

....apache2 \bin> apache -f "D:\winnt\php.ini"

Syntax error on line 1 of D:/WINNT/php.ini:
Invalid command '

', perhaps mis-spelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration

Thank you guy !! I solved my problem.

It was a human mistake!! :p

" register_globals " perameter was in two places of my php.ini
file where first one was set to ON and the second one was OFF.

By the way how can i restarting webserver to force re-read of
the ini file ??

The server administration program (or control panel if PWS) should give those facilities.
