Including 'comma' in numbers

I never ran into this before, but I'm working on a site for a customer who needs to record miles on motorcycles in thier inventory.
Ex. 12,000

How can I get the comma to show up in the proper spots, whether it is a thousand, or a million?

Using integer and printing the MySQL data I have currently, it displays '12000'

Checkout the number_format() function.

Example:
$num = 12000;

$display_num = number_format($num, 2);

That will display: 12,000

Check out the function though, you can make it do different things.

use VARCHAR or TEXT in MySql. INT will cut out the commas.

Ha. Go figure huh? 🙂

I'll check out the function above too. I might not always want to rely on the user to enter the commas.
