Selecting a date range from a TIMESTAMP?!

I have a database that's record upates are recorded as TIMESTAMP(14). The problem I am running into is that I want to select a date rage, as described in the first example on this webpage: http://www.mysql.com/doc/en/Date_and_time_functions.html

It appears that I can only select date ranges with this function if i stored the record as a DATE field, and not as a TIMESTAMP field. Is this a true assumption?

Does anyone know a way that I can select a date range with fields that are stored as a TIMESTAMP?

Down that page quite a way is UNIX_TIMESTAMP. Did you consider that function?

Less than $.02, I'm sure...🙂

P.S. the one below that, FROM_UNIXTIME, seems to do
timestamp to YYYYMMDD conversion....
