I'm looking for a good, simple XML parser, as a set of easy functions or a class, possibly an interface to PHP's expat functions. Basically that's all I need, that and it needs to be under the GPL or a GPL-compatible license (there's a list here).
Does anyone know of any?
Pear has a parser.... you will have to of course install the pear library also... pear also has server other classes bundled around XML parsing... maybe one of them will be what you need

Yeah, I've found several like that, but according to the FSF, the PHP license isn't compatible with the GPL, and if I bundle my software with a GPL incompatible library (my software is licensed under the GPL), I won't be able to distribute it.
for all the time you are spending looking up liscencing and posting on message boards... you might as well just write your own.. that way no liscencing problems
