What's wrong with my mail code?

         $fromaddress="[e-mail]";
         $subject = "This is my subject text";
         $mailcontent = "My mail content goes here";
           mail($toaddress, $fromaddress, $subject, $mailcontent);

Oh, so I send this email via my web sites server and the mail gets delivered, but there are two problems. First, there is no subject in the email people receive and second, the "Fromaddress" is not the value of the variabe, but rather the from address has my site name in the first part, and my web site hose as the second part.

Instead of saying "[e-mail]" the From: says: "[e-mail]"

What am I doing wrong?

The signature of the [man]mail[/man] function is
bool mail ( string to, string subject, string message [, string additional_headers [, string additional_parameters]])

Specifically, there is no "From" argument. Instead, put it in as an additional header (as in Example 2 on that page).
